11 Mar What is F.I. (Financial Independence) and What it Means to You?
What do you want to achieve financially? Do you know? What does it mean to you to be financially independent? Maybe you have asked yourself this question or something similar. Perhaps you really haven’t thought about it very much, maybe you just want to have more money than you do now. That is totally okay however in order to achieve your financial goals you need to define what it is that you are looking for. The F.I. (financial independence) or financial freedom or early retirement are similar that it means you have reached a basic level of freedom from worrying about essential living cost for you and your family. In essence, it means you are now free to pursue your passions or interests. You can truly search what makes your life meaningful and what really makes you happy. “To be free from essential financial obligations in order to grow and develop into the people that we strive to become.” This to me this is the meaning of F.I. and it is what I am working toward on my own financial vision quest. We are all different and we all want different things in life. That is what makes us individuals. Your vision of financial independence can be quite different from mine. Whatever that vision is I encourage you to write it down and revisit it from time to time. Ask yourself a few times a year and see if the vision still resonates with who you are. If it changes re-adjust as needed, if it stays the same keep working toward it. I wish you the best in searching and accomplishing your own F.I. Enjoy the journey!
